Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht in Gangneung, Korea

Hi, folks! If you read my previous post then you will know as I mentioned before, this post will be all about Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht in Gangneung! This is my second-time visiting Cruise Resort & Yacht and words can't describe how excited I was here again!

Oh, I'm warning you that this post contains more than 80 pictures. If you think you will get sick of scrolling a blog post with many pictures, kindly do yourself to exit my blog. But if you enjoy reading and looking at a lot of amazing pictures taken by me, well come, sit together with me, and let me bring you into a wonderful place in the Sun Cruise Theme Park.

Have you heard about Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht? Or have any of you ever been to Sun Cruise Theme Park (썬크루즈 테마공원) in Gangneung, South Korea?

Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht is a hotel resort in Jeongdongjin on the east coast of South Korea. Designed in the image of a cruise ship, notably the Royal Caribbean International Sovereign Class, the hotel is 165 meters (541 ft) long and 45 meters (148 ft) tall and overlooks the beach resort. It is believed to be the first of its kind in the world.

Built at the top of a large cliff, the hotel looks out over the sea and gives the impression that a cruise ship has run aground. The town of Jeongdongjin is known for its views of the sunrise and sunset over the Sea of Japan (East Sea) and is itself a tourist destination. This has been further enhanced by the construction of the hotel, with its unusual design making it one of the most popular attractions in the country. (From Wikipedia)

I think you can see how big of this ship.

The front gate of the Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht (썬크루즈).

There is an entrance fee to go to this place. Entrance fee for adults is 5,000won.

The Sun Cruise (썬크루즈) has 211 rooms, both condominium and hotel style, a Western and a Korean restaurant, a revolving sky lounge, a night club, a karaoke, and seawater pool. It also offers 6 state-of-the-art function rooms for seminars and workshops

The parking area is huge, so it was easy to park, but the parking fee is a bit expensive.

Let's go inside the hotel lobby sun cruise!

When entered the hotel lobby, I was amazed at the beauty and architectural great of this hotel.

Hopefully next time I can stay a few nights with my hubby on the cruises. LOL

This bakery is a great place to take a break and grab a morning coffee or tea and cookies or pastry.

Might be best to grab a coffee or tea and sit by the window while watching and enjoy the view of the mountains or the sea.

In this area, you can see the amazing sunrise. That was my first time to see the sunrise in my raw eyes.

I love the magnificent view from the top.

Many couples lock their padlock of love onto the pole and to dream that their love will last forever.

The Sun Cruise Hotel is one of the most popular tourist attractions in South Korea.

The garden features the famous sculpture "The Hands of Blessing," and other art pieces that blend with the sunrise over the ocean.

Other attractions of the park include Grass Park, a large green field, a Sculpture park with pieces in three themes, glass observatory, providing a walk right over the ocean, an observatory platform to view the surrounding area, and exhibition hall, showcasing the history of Sun Cruise Resort.

We are so lucky to have nice weather!

This is such a beautiful beach, probably one of the prettiest I have seen in Korea. The view is perfect that you can see the sun cruise resort and the best place for sunrise. Your journey to Korea will never be complete without paying a visit to the Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht!

Here we can see the pool at the hotel.

It’s always better when we're together!

Unique sculptures all around the area. If you are into statues, you may like it.

There's a bench for outside sitting.

Looking out at the East Sea from the garden inside the resort and the first thing that shocked me was the water!

I have never found a beach in Korea with clear blue water like this in Jeongdongjin. Water is so clean that you can see the bottom of the sea.

It's time to test the guts on the observation area with a glass floor.

Glass floors are made with transparent glass when it is useful to view something from above or below; whereas translucent glass is used when there is no need to view through.

You have to queue and wait for your turn to get to the observation area with a glass floor.

Clear blue sky, clear blue sea with the sound of waves crashing in just made me feel peaceful.

This is a unique area with an opportunity to take some interesting and amazing pictures.

Do you know, there is a cafe up there?

After some time, we feel cold, so we decided to go to the cafe!

Wine bottle display!

Liquor display shelf.

I was stunned at the beauty and architectural genius of this cafe.

This cafe is huge with lots of seating available.

Amazing view of the sea and mountains from our table at the window.

In Sun Cruise Cafe, they sell several drinks, some cakes, cookies, and bread.

They provide free water.

For the menu, there is not a lot of choice for drink and food.

Tissue

The drink here was more expensive than in other places.

Discount coupon if you order drinks or food at this cafe.

We ordered a glass of ginger tea and a glass of cafe latte.

The drinks were nothing special and overpriced for what it was.

The ginger tea is too sweet. I feel like I will get diabetes tomorrow.

  11. This is so neat! I was trying to figure out from the photos if it was a building or a ship, so they did a good job making it look like a cruise ship! The food looks amazing and this looks like a fun way to stay somewhere unique.

  30. Yes, I visited the grounds here about two years ago. The ship and cheesy Romanesque statues were very memorable. I remember that although I didn't take a tour inside, the walk along the East Sea was very beautiful. Your pictures are lovely, and I really like the image you captured of the grand piano. The manager there should have given you a free night there for writing this review! :)

  39. Hi! Anyeong!

Beautiful and amazing cruise resort. It does look like a shape of a yacht.

Beautiful shots. I enjoyed looking through them.

I have been to Korea before but way back in 2010 during winter. First experience of winter and snow back then. Kind of missing the winter air. Lol.
